Hurricane Irene Sunday

So supposedly exactly 40 years ago a Hurricane by the name of Doria hit the New York City area.  Now we have Hurricane Irene, who was much stronger last night according to my kids.  I was sick and slept most of the night so I barely heard the thunder, the wind, terrential rain and lightning.  Crazy.  I love my weekends and this one ain't no different.  I spent yesterday making a homemade cake for my daughter's 9th birthday.  I was going to take her to the Duchess County fair but that was out of the question.  Anyways after that I spent the rest of the day watching the GAC Channel and listening to my favorite, "Country Music".  I am so destined to be a country singer.  I love anything country.  I decided to start a blog to express and share my views on everything from country music to how hard it is being a mom of three kids from age 4 to 10, and trying to pursue my dreams.  After watching the show CMT Made yesterday, it truly inspired me to follow my dreams and never quit.  You never too old to follow your dreams.  From this day forth I will be tracking my thoughts, dreams and desires and sharing them with you all.  I hope that you guys can join me on this journey and share your thoughts, dreams, desires, or whatever you may on here with me.  Let's start it together.  Much love to all and God Bless.

One more thing.
Why is it that when I tell everyone that I love country music and they hear me listening to country music they find it odd.  Why can't a black city girl born in Queens, New York and raised in Brooklyn, New York love country music?  Any thoughts?

Any way I am back to listening to some Zac Brown Band and watching Irene.  Take care and God bless.  Till tomorrow guys.
